On 2 July 2022, the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan signed a Decree “On the introduction of a state of emergency in the territory of the Republic of Karakalpakstan”.

According to the Decree, the state of emergency was introduced from 00:01 on 3 July 2022 to 00:00 on 2 August 2022 to ensure the safety of citizens, protect their rights and freedoms, restore law and order on the territory of the Republic of Karakalpakstan.
